Timothy Findley‘s “Pilgrim” – Which, I must confess, I have read multiple times over the past decade. I love love love Findley (Iconic Canadian writer? Hecks yes!), but find that his books are a hit or miss for me. For example, I truly wanted to enjoy “Not Wanted on the Voyage.” but couldn’t make my way through it. But The Wars? Dust to Dust? Devoured.
Ditto with Margaret Atwood. Some of her books I adore, others I can dismiss with a ‘meh.’ And although she’s more well known and touted for her novels, I much prefer her poetry. (The Loneliness of the Military Historian, anyone?)
Anyone else have an author like that?
